On Sunday 14th November 2021, as has been tradition for many years, Sandbach hosted a Remembrance parade consisting of veterans, cadets and many other groups, ahead of a wreath-laying ceremony at the war memorial in the Cobbled Square.
I was sorting through some Old Sandbachian papers and a I came across the President’s report for the 2017 AGM. In the same plastic folder, I found a written record of a conversation between Geoff Piggott and Richard Bass.
We are delighted to be able to go back to the School for a Saturday Lunch reception and an opportunity to remember Reg Dunning and Geoff Piggott.
The Old Sandbachians’ Association is delighted to announce another – and hopefully final – new date for our much Covid-postponed London 2022 Reception. This popular event was originally due to be held in March 2020.
We hope this letter finds you well. So much has happened in the last 2 years, which was the last time the Old Sandbachians was able to hold any sort of event. The world has been turned upside down by the pandemic, and England nearly won another football trophy,
Following the recent sad passing of Sandbach School teacher and legend, Geoff Piggot, and in recognition of the importance that Sandbach School played in Geoff’s life, the hearse carrying Geoff to his private funeral passed through the grounds of the School
Peter Manning, who attended Sandbach School between 1940 and 1947, died peacefully earlier this year at the age of 91. He relished his time at Sandbach, representing the football, cricket and rugby teams.
