Former Headteacher Colin Brown’s Alzheimer’s Society Memory Walk

September 12, 2024 OSA Admin 0

Former Sandbach School Headteacher Colin Brown is currently spending time as a volunteer with the charity Alzheimer’s Society which supports UK residents who suffer from various forms of dementia, as well as their carers. On October 10th Colin is taking part, in Tatton Park, in one of the Society’s fund-raising Memory Walks where there is always a large turn-out of folk undertaking the walk in memory of a deceased loved one who suffered from dementia. In Colin’s case his thoughts will be with his late wife Christine who passed away in January 2022. Christine, of course, has a double connection with the school being the mum of their Old Sandbachian son Nick Brown who was a student at school from 1987- 92. If you would like to read Christine’s story and support the work of the Alzheimer’s Society please visit Colin’s ‘Just Giving’ page: https://www.justgiving.com/page/colin-brown-1720815347056 Many of us have benefited from Colin’s words of wisdom and guidance throughout his years at the school. The Old Sandbachians are pleased to support Colin’s fundraising efforts. This is a highly worthy cause, as anyone with personal experience of someone with Dementia will attest to. Colin stresses he understands not everyone is comfortable in making donations in this manner and he would like, in advance, to thank those who do so for their kindness in supporting the Society
