AGM and Summer Reception 2023

This year’s AGM and Annual lunch is now locked into the diary. Saturday July 15th is the date for what we hope will be the biggest and best event for several years.
The focal point of the lunch will be to acknowledge and thank the many staff who have served and taught at the school for long parts of their careers. To this end we will be joined by teachers from the past 50 years. Staff who taught in the 1970s, like Glynn Robinson, Keith Ludlam and John Owen, to Simon Robertson who retired last year. As more staff confirm we will make announcements and look forward to some of the current staff accepting invites as well.
The day will start at 11 with the Service in the Chapel. The service is always well attended and leads into the Annual General Meeting. This AGM is open to all but only paid members will be able to vote
The reception commences at 12:15 in the main refectory. There is a cash bar and there will be plenty of time to mingle with former pupils before enjoying a splendid fork buffet lunch. The bar this year will be provided by Bach 95, a local company whose co-founders include 2 recent Old Boys.
During the lunch we will be joined by Head Teacher Sarah Burns, Pete Sherratt, Chair of the Governors as well as some of the Head Pupil team. It will be amazing to see so many former pupils and staff mixing with the current generation of both. We hope to see both regular faces and many new ones, especially who left in the last 20 years.
Many will also remember Reg Dunning, and in his memory we have named the regular raffle Reg’s Raffle. This is always a good source of fundraising and any donations for the prizes are well received
Following the success of the House competition at the London Reception, Simon Robertson has kindly agreed to help create a similar event following lunch. This will round the day of perfectly.
