Remembering Andy Cleal
Andrew James Cleal was at Sandbach School from 1974 to 1981, and those staff and pupils who were there at the time will undoubtedly all have fond and varied memories of this enigmatic and unique student.

It is with great sadness that we learnt today of the passing of Andrew Cleal. Our deepest sympathies go out to his family and friends. He will be remembered by all of us at the Old Sandbachians Association. RIP Andy.
The Old Sandbachians’ Association would like to wish a very happy and prosperous new year to all our members and everyone involved at Sandbach School.
We want to wish all our group members, former pupils, staff and their families, a very Merry Christmas and best wishes for a happy and prosperous new year.
The OSA is once again a growing and thriving organisation, and we couldn’t do it without the support of our members – THANK YOU!
You are most welcome to join the OSA and the school at the annual Carol Concert at St Mary’s Church on Wednesday December 18th at 6:30pm.
The service lasts about an hour, and then we usually pop over to the Old Hall for a drink afterwards.
Firstly we want to thank every former pupil and former and current staff who have supported us this year. We had two Lunches at Sandbach Rugby Club, a Beer Tasting Evening at Beartown Brewery , an amazing Annual Reception & Lunch, and the brilliant Former Cadets Dining In Night in November.
I’m writing this having got back home following another fabulous matchday lunch at our spiritual home, Sandbach Rugby Club, where the OSA were once again sponsoring the matchball. I can’t praise the club too highly.
It is said that a sign of a good time is that no one wants it to end. So the fact that there were more than half the guests still mingling when the night ended, was evidence that this was certainly the case at the Former Cadets’ Dining In Night!
Once again, OSA President Mark Bowland, and Vice President Jeff Lewis joined the annual Remembrance Sunday parade through the town, and jointly laid a wreath at the town’s War Memorial.
Once again the OSA will be joining the Sandbach Remembrance Parade this year, and new President Mark Bowland will lay a wreath on behalf of the Old Sandbachians’ Association.
